In regards to modeling or photoshoots in general, the neck is most often forgot about in relation to deciding on how to strike a pose. A lot of times we focus more attention on how our face is creating expression or how to pose from the shoulders down.
However when we do this, we tend to disregard the sheer importance of the neck and how much it can truly add to a shot!
Today I want to give an important tip on posing for the neck!
1. Chin up/Elongate!
I say chin up with the elongation of the neck because naturally if you were to think of or even act out elongating your neck, the first thing you do without even thinking about it, is lifting your chin.
By lifting your chin slightly upward, you create more length at which your neck is presented. The higher you lift your chin (be careful as to not make it awkward), the more your neck will become tighter and tighter, congruently showing more of the neck muscles.
(Fun Fact: Elongating your neck was also a tip taught by the one and only Tyra Banks on Americas Next Top Model!)
Positive Thought—Dreams! Don’t let your dreams become confined to your own mental dream world! Let them out, and manifest the life you have always dreamed of! It really is a powerful statement to say “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
Moreover, I would even add to that and say, “If you can see it, you can create it.” Let your inner dreamer free, and share them with the world.
💖Love you all!💖
